This .38+P caliber Airweight pistol by Smith and Wesson is a must have for any handgun enthusiast.  This is an ultra light-weight aluminum alloy tool. The Airweight is highly effective for self-defense and concealed carry. You can wear anything — from slacks and a tucked in shirt to track pants and a wife beater — without having to worry about unsightly bulges with this piece. Definitely the perfect pocket gun.

That being said, be careful. Study your local gun laws to avoid getting caught up. Also, be aware that no amount of legal preparedness will keep you safe from profiling and/or potentially catching a case like Lil Wayne.

Whether we like it or not, guns are a huge part of hip hop culture in general and American society in specific.   In the United States, there are approximately 90 guns per 100 citizens.  Do you have any, or would you rather be unarmed?  For many honest and hard working people, the reality remains that it’s much better to be “caught with [one] than caught without one,” in the words of Xzibit. The majority of America seems to feel the same way.  According to Bill Cosby however, in response to the murder of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman, ”when you carry a gun, you mean to harm somebody, kill somebody….”  How do you feel?

Regardless, there is no arguing that the Smith and Wesson .38 Airweight is a beautiful piece of work.  This is truly a classic American gun and a great weapon for concealed carry and self-defense.  You’ll never have to worry about this one jamming or littering the environment with your shell casings when you pop off.

Beautiful sneakers, but are they worth $1,000 on eBay? Only 1,200 pairs of these basketball shoes were produced.  How much do you think these cost to manufacture? Definitely no more than $20… Honestly, they were more than likely much, much, cheaper. Since the 1980s, NIKE has been the poster-child for outsourcing cheap-labor abroad and exploiting Asian and Latin American laborers in sweatshop conditions with “admissions of abuses, including forced overtime and restricted access to water.”  Nonetheless, in America, we live like kings and seldom think twice about shit like this.

Anyway, the Foamposite has been a staple in Moses’ hometown of DC for years now.  Undoubtedly this is a fresh ass glow in the dark shoe, but definitely not worth rioting over like they did in Florida.

Somebody tell NIKE to throw a free pair in the mail for Moses – maybe they’ll appreciate being held accountable and continue to embrace more progressive corporate practices.  Moses could totally rock these for his next hip hop video.  If any shoe were a perfect candidate for the Official Sneaker of the Hip Hop  Star World, this would be the pair.

In a perfect world, the NIKE Foamposite Galaxy would be priced more appropriately and everyone involved in the production process would walk away with a living wage.  Do you think such a time will ever come, or is this just the way it goes on the road to riches?  Mainly poor (or hood rich) people buy these shoes which in itself is inherently exploitative, and yet Moses still finds himself drawn to this sneaker.

Perhaps most sickening of all, a man named Leonard Smith Matthew was stabbed to death in Hyattsville, Maryland over a pair of Retro NIKE Foamposites in July of 2011.  Can you really blame NIKE though, or is this more a reflection of the dark side of poverty and its corrupting influence?

Moses flaunts his punchline heavy swag over Lloyd Banks’s song Beamer Benz or Bentley on this track, Beamer Beamer Beamer. This song is off the Clay into a Dove mixtape — make sure you download it here if you haven’t already. You can hear Moses punish the beat while playfully bragging about having how he went from riding BMX bikes around Los Angeles to pushing a BMW sports coupe.

Moses was walking through Beverly Hills on business one afternoon and crossed paths with Queen Latifah in her CLS Mercedes Benz. He found her inspiring aura to be contagious, and you hear him shouting her out on this track like she’s his sister! The beat by Prime really brings out Moses’ flow, and the Muhammad Ali quote at the end ends the track on a powerful note. You can hear the original interview this sample was taken from on Youtube (the excerpt begins somewhere around 4min59secs to be specific, but you’re better off watching the interview from the beginning).

MC Brian’s beat reminded him a lot of 2pac’s song Changes. On the chorus when Moses raps about being “sacred even on the streets of Vegas,” he is referring to the spilled blood of the late rapper who was gunned down on the streets of Las Vegas while riding in the passenger’s seat of Marion “Suge” Knight’s black BMW 750i sedan in 1996. In the introduction to the song, Moses calls the human species to change much like 2pac implored his people to do the same on Changes.

Aside from the tribute to 2pac, Moses wanted to acknowledge to his fans the shift he feels his music has taken over the years. He asks himself, “What ever happened to just writing for the penmanship / Immersed in knowledge to heighten the temperment? The church and college both divided and penitent, it’s refuge in my study when i’m high sipping peppermint… ” This song is definitely a treat for any one who has followed the progression of Moses’ career in the hip hop scene over the years.

When it comes to intricate hip hop lyrics, Moses has always looked to Aaron with a deep admiration for his ability to flip words. Musically, Aaron has always been ahead of his time. Moses knew that when Aaron approached him to get on the late J Dilla’s beat for Smile, he had do more than just rap. You hear it in Moses’ voice as he opens his verse, “You and yo smile, baby girl, so beautiful, been watering my weed plants, I smell it on yo cuticle…You should know, if you take a flower, that’s your funeral. Ten hour lights, so that mean they got two to glow…”

Ever since their early days in the Los Angeles under ground hip hop scene, these two have excelled in combining their contrasting styles to reach the masses. What began as just another mixtape track quickly evolved into something far more special.

Moses turns Wale’s flow upside down and hits the ground running on verse one: “Me and DC so Kanye and Donda / I’m lunchin, and it’s a mufuckin problem / My city AIDS rate on par with Uganda.” This is no trendy reference to the  paternal KONY 2012 scam…  According to the BBC in 2009, Washington DC’s HIV/AIDS rate was “worse than some African nations.” All the way down to giving props to Black Mongoose and Cool Disco Dan, the notorious DC Go-go graffiti artists, it’s clear that even though Moses is West Coast based, he will always love DC.

Long Day Busy Week was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Rahten 5Star. The song combines a get money mindset with old school hip hop lyricism. This is another classic example of Moses’ syrupy flows over heavy-hitter hip hop beats. Moses comes in smooth, boasting, “I’m on Melrose, in my shell toes / Out Venice and I’m baked like a calzone / I treat each hour like another milestone / Call me collect and we can talk on the dialtone.” The Sicks and Rahten follow up in full effect with true Mid-City LA swag. Without a doubt, it is the two of their energies that makes this song what it is, a West Coast hip hop sensation. This is definitely not your run of the mill new school rap music. Be sure to keep your ears glued to Moses’ Hip Hop Star World because there’s plenty more where this came from.

When Moses first heard Drake and Lil Wayne on “Goin In” produced by NeedlZ, he instantly felt that the beat was what really helped take this song to the next level. He took Weezy and Drizzy’s flow and built upon their rhyme structure to lyrically slaughter this song. He comes in boasting, “Look at where I’ve landed, I kick it with Hispanics, and I got New Eyes like I’m from a new planet…” Coming out of Los Angeles rapping heat like this shows that Moses is clearly unafraid when it comes to defying police state politics. Surely, he was gone on another planet when he recorded this cut.
